Attributes / Karma:
Alleviate Kapha & Pitta.
Purgative (bhedana), promote appetite, cardiac tonic
Cures – disorders due to Kapha & Pitta, fever, asthma, cough, disorders of blood (rakta dosha), burning sensation, skin disorders (kushta), parasitic infection (krimi)
Medicinal uses

Internal
Anorexia, liver disorders, jaundice – powdered Katuka 0.75g to 01g.
Heart diseases –equal quantity of powdered Katuka + Glycyrrhiza with sugar.
As a purgative – powdered Katuka 3g to 6g.
Fever – decoction of Katuka along with powered pepper & honey.
