Properties:
Rasa           Tikta, Kashaya, Madhura
Guna           Guru, Ruksha
Veerya        Ushna
Vipaka         Katu  

Attributes / Karma:
Alleviate Kapha & Pitta.
Improves voice (svara krut). Improves the complexion (varna krut).
Cures – disorders due to Kapha, vaginal diseases, eye disorders, disorders of the ear, bloody diarrhea, skin diseases (kushta), disorders of the blood, erysipelas (visarpa), Ulcers, diabetes (prameha),                                                                                                                                                                                                              

Medicinal uses:

External
Inflammations, ulcers, skin disorders - past is applied locally.

Internal
Renal calculi – 1g of Mangishta powder is given tds for 1 week.
Skin Diseases – powder is given in honey.
Diabetes – decoction of Mangishta & Sandalwood is given.
