Properties:
Rasa           Katu
Guna          Laghu, Ruksha, Tikshna
Veerya       Ushna
Vipaka        Katu


Attributes / Karma:
Alleviate Vata & Kapha
Vermicide. Promote digestion.
Cures – flatulence, abdominal colic, constipation (vibanda)


Medicinal uses:

External
Dental diseases – Decoction of Vidanga as gargle
Chronic rinitis  - nasal administration of powdered Vidanga (Pradamana nasya)

Internal
As a vermicide – 10g of Vidanga powder are given on an empty stomach & then a purgative is given.
Disurea – powdered Vidanga with honey.
Tetany & Convulsion – decoction of Vidanga & Garlic made by adding 7 cups of water & 1 cup of milk.
